Have you met her before? She keeps you from accomplishing what you want, getting projects done and keeping you tied to a lifestyle that you don’t want to be living.
I face perfection quite a bit because I feel like if I expose myself as imperfect, which let me just say I AM IMPERFECT, but to specifically point out my flaws makes me feel completely vulnerable. No one likes to feel vulnerable. I feel like I am facing a grizzly bear that can either attack me or turn away and go back doing what it was. That reaction that I fear is keeping me from doing what I love. Something that MIGHT happen or NOT happen is holding me back.
With that said, the only way that you and I can overcome our fears is by facing them head on.
Done is better than perfect, my dears. And getting something done is what I have been avoiding doing.
You can’t do something imperfect if you don’t do it at all right? Wrong! You are messing it up anyway so why not get something done and learn from what you do?
Sometimes you win, and sometimes you learn is a state of mind that most of us perfectionists can use to improve our lives.
Where is perfection holding you back? For me, it was my website and creating content like this blog post. But with faith, I am putting myself out here!
