We have an awesome selection of yarn at our 100 yen store and I was so excited when I discovered they had 100% wool yarn. I knew that I had to make some dryer balls! I have trying to move us towards a more natural, simpler lifestyle. We still have a lot that we need to transition on, but we are trying.
Here are a few benefits of wool dryer balls
-Soften fabric without using fabric softener
-Reduce drying time
Not only are they fun to make but you simply toss them into your dryer with your wet laundry and you are good to go!
Now on to the tutorial I learned a few things and lost a few dryer balls so I hope you can learn from my experience.
First you need 100% wool yarn.
I started off with a little scrunched up bundle and then proceeded to just wind it around and create a tight ball. This one pictured below was too loose! keep scrolling and you will see what happened!
After you make the balls, stick them in a cheap pair of pantyhose and tie with a piece of yarn to separate the balls.
My second try I wound the yarn very tight and tied a string in the middle which worked well!
If you want to infuse your laundry, add 2-5 drops of your favorite essential oil directly to the dryer balls before you toss them in. These are some of my favorites! (I am a wellness advocate with Doterra)
It was actually quite relaxing to sit and wined the yarn when creating these Wool Dryer Balls! I hope you try it out! Let me know if you love dryer balls in the comment below!
