It’s Christmas time and the time of cozying up with those you love and sipping on hot chocolate. Even though Trevor makes the most amazing honemade chocolate, sometimes it’s nice to have the packets on hand in our pantry. Hot chocolate packets also make the perfect gift! I updated the hot chocolate sliders from the Cozy up with Conference printables into these fun and festive ones.
You will need the printable, washi tape or glue, hole punch, about 2 ft of ribbon or yarn, scissors, and a hot chocolate packet. This slider is designed to fit the Swiss Miss packets. Cut and Fold in the right side of the slider about 1/2 and inch. Then take that folded edge and meet it with the other edge.
You can glue or use tape to hold it together. I folded the small side on top in the back and taped it up.
Hole punch the top in the middle and thread your ribbon through.
Open the slider a little bit and slide in the hot chocolate packet pushing down the ribbon as it is inserted. The ribbon is acting as a carrier and is what holds in the packet.
When I first made these today I just tied it into a bow but then decided it needed some sort of tag to tell them what to do.
Orginally I put, “Pull here” but then changed it to, “Pull up” as that might be more clear as to what to do.
I did the first part of tying a bow, slipped on the hole punched tag, then finished tying the bow.
I slipped the hot chocolate slider into a mug I purchased from the dollar store with a festive snowflake coaster and a candy cane. You could even put in honemade marshmallows too! These mugs are nice and hold up well to kiddos using them.
If you wanted to keep it budget friendly, you can do 1 box of hot chocolate for around $1.50 (10 pouches) and paper and ribbon you probably have already.
I’ve listed the free printable in the shop and you can find it here
Here is an old video I made of how I made the Cozy up with Conference Sliders if video is easier to understand for you.
